Tony was born in Wilmington, California on May 10, 1930 and passed away on January 27, 2025. Tony was born and raised in Wilmington California his whole life.
Tony is now reunited with his beautiful wife Hope N. Esquivel after 70 wonderful years of marriage.
Tony is survived by his children, Kathy Esquivel Reyes, Anthony (Marina) Esquivel, Nancy (Skip) Patrick and Cindy Guimary; grandchildren, Efren Reyes, Angelina (Tawny) Esquivel, Amanda Esquivel, Brian Patrick, Shawn (Taylor) Patrick, Kalena, Kristy and Katie Guimary; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Tony was pre-deceased by his parents, Juan and Benita Esquivel; four siblings; grandsons, Paul Jr. and Mario Reyes; and son-in-law’s, Willie Guimary and Paul H. Reyes.
Tony was a Veteran of the United States Army and an original member of the Road Kings of Wilmington. He also played baseball for Banning Park Posse. He worked for the Harbor Belt Line Railroad where he retired after 44 years.
Tony had numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who adored him especially on Monday and Wednesday visits.
Tony was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Great-Great Grand-father. Tony was a great mentor to his family with lots of wisdom and great stories. He was our “Rock” and will be truly missed forever.
Services to be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Viewing at Coastal Funeral Center in Lomita from 9:00-10:00AM, followed by a Mass at St. Margaret Mary Church in Lomita at 11:00AM.
Burial immediately following at Wilmington Cemetery.
