Sally Irene Gilman Plake, age 75, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, in Torrance, California. Born on December 3, 1949, in Seattle, Washington, Sally lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and enduring relationships.
For over four decades, Sally worked as a beautician—a career she embraced with passion and pride. She was a beloved member of the team at 710 Hair Salon in Rolling Hills, where her commitment to her craft and her coworkers left a lasting impression. Always eager to stay current with the latest trends and techniques, Sally faithfully attended hair shows across the country. Her clients appreciated not only her skill but also the warmth and kindness she brought to every appointment.
Sally's talents extended far beyond the salon chair. She had a deep love for cooking and delighted in preparing food, candy, and desserts for those around her. Her creativity found further expression through jewelry making, sewing, and arts and crafts—hobbies that brought her joy and allowed her to share beauty in many forms.
A woman of gentle spirit and generous heart, Sally maintained lifelong friendships with those she grew up with and built strong bonds with friends she met along the way. She traveled the world with these cherished companions, embracing each moment fully and living for the present.
Sally is survived by her sister Sharra Moller; nephew Keith Moller; cousin Dixie Hyatt; Judy Hiatt Bailey; Diana Hyatt Pingel; Kendle Anspach; Ray Anspach; Bobby Anspach; Billy Anspach; and the children of all above. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her—family members, friends from near and far, coworkers at 710 Hair Salon, and countless clients whose lives she touched.
