In loving memory of Opal Helen Wulff
Opal Helen Wulff, 100, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Opal was born in Otis, Colorado, on August 28, 1923. She graduated from Utica High School in Utica, Nebraska in 1944, she enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. Opal furthered her education and graduated from the University of Nebraska. She embarked on a career in the emerging field of computers, contributing significantly to the industry. In 1955, she moved to California and worked as a systems analyst in the aerospace sector until her retirement in 1985.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Margaret (Naber) Wulff, her sisters Mildred (Douglas) Benson, Evelyn (Alvin) Munster, Naomi (Allen) Hudson, and her brothers Virgil (Donna) and Mervin Dean.
She is survived by her sister, Myrna (Larry) Tewes. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, including Kathryn (Bob) Sexton, Margaret (David) Blum, Joyce Benson, LaDonna Dell, Yvonne (Phillip) Brewer, Leilani Hudson, Debra (John) Davidson, Judith (Jim) Barillier, Wendi (Patrick) Kane, Dennis (Pam) Munster, Mervin (Patricia) Munster, Spencer (Irene) Hudson, Robert (Peggy) Tewes, David Tewes, Andrew (Sheryl) Tewes, and Jonathan (Ruth) Tewes.
A memorial service to honor Opal’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at First Lutheran Church, 2900 W. Carson St., Torrance, CA. Her final resting place will be at Garden of the Saints, First Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to First Lutheran Church, Torrance, California, in Opal’s name.
