Nikki "Nick" Lee Livada

July 29, 1932 — December 18, 2020

Nikki "Nick" Lee Livada, born July 29, 1932 in San Pedro, California, passed away quietly December 18, 2020 at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. Nick grew up in Torrance and attended Torrance High School (Class of '51). He took a turn as president of the THS Bearing Burners Club, whose goals were to take motor-scooter trips and to have fun, as well as promote interest, goodwill, and safe use of motor-scooters. Those were the days!

Starting out as a tool and die maker, Nick moved on to serve as a Los Angeles City Fireman/Paramedic until his retirement in 1979. Active in many organizations; B.P.O.E. Elks, Southern California Live Steamers Miniature Railroad Club, and AOPA, he eventually became a Seaman by the U.S. Merchant Marine Veterans of World War II on the Liberty Ship S.S. Lane Victory. A handyman extraordinaire, he was constantly helping neighbors, family and friends with projects. He loved and lived life to the fullest, camping in the western United States and, later in life, exploring the world with Sandra Craig.

He is survived by his daughters Diana Livada and Merrilee Corder, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and his partner Sandra Craig, her two daughters Teri Halbert and Jeni Walker, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. We all miss him and will remember his big heart, helping hands, and free spirit.

Please share your stories and memories here during the delay for the Celebration of his Life in July. Contact Diana at 360-870-6146 for details or just to talk or reminisce. We give our deepest thanks for your love and prayers.
