Maria Ofelia Tovar was born in the small town of Usulutan, El Salvador on February 20th, 1943. Daughter of Nicolasa Catalina Tovar and Saturnino Aleman. She passed away at the age of 78, on November 10th 2021, in Gardena CA.
She is survived by her eight children; Israel J Tovar, Maria Nelis Urias, Rosa A Urias, Ada Emerita Urias, Odil Urias, Marlo Urias, Maria Ofelia Alcazar and Esmeralda Alcazar. Eight grandchildren, Bryant Urias, Brandon Molina, Jacqueline Tovar, Jayven Colon, Estefania Urias, Katalina Urias, Christina Urias, Jose Fredy Cabral. Two great grandchildren Sophia Luciana Urias and Camila Selene Urias. Six siblings, Aquilino Aleman, Lucila Aleman, Paz Tovar, Elisa Tovar, Nila Aleman, Saturnino Aleman.
Maria Ofelia lived her life to the fullest and accomplished great things. She was raised on her family farm where she would help tend to the crops and animals, and took care of her younger brothers and sisters. She made the best cheese from the cow's milk - Nobody could resist!
She was married to a wonderful man named Damacio De Jesus Urias, for 17 loving years, until his sudden and unexpected passing.
In 1977, she traveled to the United States in her early 30's and fell in love with Manuel Alcazar. There was no going back.
She lived the American Dream as an entrepreneur, buying her first home in the USA, raising her eight children, and becoming a US citizen. She loved her new home and was very proud to be part of it all. Maria Ofelia lived her life for her family and made sure her kids got better opportunities to thrive in her new country. Her hard work and dedication were unparalleled.
She loved music and to dance, always celebrating when she could by having big parties and gatherings at her house where everyone was welcome. She was loved by the community - Everyone saw her as MOM.
Some of her greatest passions were to horseback ride, travel, walk in mother nature, and spend time with her large family. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Her house was constantly full of joy and laughter. You would always find something yummy simmering on her stove, ready for anyone coming over for something to eat.
