It is with love and remembrance that we announce the passing of Maria Antonia Martin, who departed this world on September 29, 2025, in Carson, California, at the age of 91. Born on December 18, 1933, in Jalisco Mexico. Maria lived a life with warmth, kindness, and the spirit of family.
Maria A. Martin was a beloved wife to Ignacio Martin, a devoted mother to her children Ignacio Martin Jr. (Monica), Beto Martin (Mieko), Sergio Martin, Virginia “Jeannie” Martin, Emelia “Mely” Alonzo (Ernesto), Patricia Aguilera (Marco Antonio) and Judith Alonzo (Julian). She took immense pride in her family, who were the cornerstone of her existence, nurturing a bond that transcended generations. Her legacy continued through her grandchildren: Tiana, Andrew, Adam, Matthew, Angelica, Isabella, Idalia, Aaron, Sofia, Julian Jr., Viviana, Cristian, Marco and Gabriel, each of whom carried forward the love and values she instilled in them. As a great-grandmother, she delighted in the lives of Ivy, Quinn, Jakob Moon & Penelope whose laughter brought her joy and fulfillment. Alongside her immediate family, Maria is remembered fondly by her sisters, cousins and many countless friends, including Los Cursillos de Cristiandad, who share cherished memories of times spent together.
In her journey through life, Maria epitomized grace and humility. She faced challenges with courage and fostered connections that enveloped her in the embrace of love and loyalty. The memories she created will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
A Visitation to honor Maria Martin will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a Rosary from 6:00PM to 7:00PM, followed with Mass the next day on Saturday, October 18th, 2025 at 10:00AM at Nativity Catholic Church located at 1447 Engracia Ave., Torrance, CA 90501. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park, located at 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, allowing family and friends an opportunity to reflect on the impact of her remarkable life.
Maria has rejoined her parents, Francisco & Francisca Flores, who welcomed her with open arms above. Though she will be dearly missed, her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for those she leaves behind, reminding us all to cherish every moment and to nurture the bonds that shape our lives.
