Lavina Antoinette Blancaflor Duran

April 9, 1926 — October 16, 2023

On Monday 10/16/2023, God welcomed Lavina Duran home, blessed with 97 years of life.

Lavina Antoinette Blancaflor, was born 04/09/1926, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo to Cornelio Blancaflor and Louise Blancaflor. Those of us who knew her were gratfeul to call her Mama, Grandma, Sister, Aunt Dolly and Friend.

Lavina was a graduate of Woodbury College. Her adventurous spirit led her from the homeland of the Philippines to Egypt, Spain, Africa, Switzerland and Germany. She worked for the Aerospace industry in the states as an Executive Secretary supporting up to 19 engineers. After 25 years of service, Lavina retired to spend more time with family. She remained active singing in a choir, taking line dancing, exercise classes, and spending time in her garden.

Lavina was preceded in death by Cornelio Blancaflor (Father), Louise Blancaflor (Mother).

Services for Lavina Duran will be held:
Thursday, October 26, 2023
12:00 PM at St Margaret Mary with Father Nguyen officiating.
Celebration of Life Reception will follow in the St. Joseph Center, across from the church.

Lavina is survived by her brother Cornelio Junior Blancaflor; Millard Blancaflor; brother Roland Blancaflor; sister-in-law Linda Blancaflor; son Mitch Duran; daughter in law Mayumi; granddaughter Aiyana Duran; granddaughter Shenoa Duran; granddaughter Mapiya Duran; son-in-law Marty Edgley; daughter Tanya Edgley; grandson Vaughan Edgley; granddaughter Kaitlyn Edgley; grandson Donovan Edgley; niece Tami Adams; niece Yugie Atwood; niece Yvonne Marwade; niece Mary Blancaflor; niece Renee Koher; niece Janine Erberich; nephew Roland Blancaflor.

In Lavina's notes, she requested this poem be shared ~ Remember Me ~
Remember me when flowers bloom early in the Spring. Remember me on sunny days in the fun that summer brings. Remember me in the fall as you would through the leaves of gold. And in the wintertime, remember in the stories that are told. But most of all remember, right from the start I will be forever near for I live within your heart. ~ Judith Karen Bulock
