Kevin was born to Peter and Violeta Pobjoy on the 2nd of May 1992 in Torrance, CA, younger brother to his sisters Chris, Mary and Valerie.
After graduating from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in 2010, Kevin enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served in the Reserves with the 3rd Civil Affairs Group based in Camp Pendleton, CA receiving an Honorable Discharge and the rank of Sergeant in 2019. During his time in the Reserves, Kevin attended the University of Southern California receiving a BA with Honors in Anthropology in 2017 and a Master of Visual Anthropology the following year in 2018.
Interning at the USC Shoah Foundation ignited Kevin's passion for social justice and caring for others. After graduation he worked as a Behavioral Health Technician assisting students with learning disabilities. During the Covid pandemic, he qualified and worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) where he selflessly assisted others and was more recently a Mental Health Technician (MHT) where he continued to work with patients in need.
In 2020 Kevin re-enlisted in the California National Guard as a Sergeant where he was currently serving with the 1st Medical Detachment in Los Alamitos, CA.
Serving both his country and his community, Kevin always put others before himself and was working on becoming a licensed clinical social worker. Although he never got to complete that goal, many patients benefited from his personal interactions and care during his working career.
Kevin will be greatly missed by his parents Peter and Violeta; his sister Valerie, his sister Chris and brother-in-law Emerson, and his sister Mary and brother-in-law Dave; nephews Matthew, Andrew, John and Ronin; niece Charli; Grandad Charlie; aunts, uncles and cousins in Ireland and the Philippines and all of his friends near and far.
