James "Jamie" Frederick Barth, Sr.

August 16, 1958 — April 27, 2023

James "Jamie" Frederick Barth, Sr. went home to be with The Lord peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the age of 64. Jamie was born in Inglewood, California, on August 16, 1958, to Fred and Jan Barth. He attended Riviera and Valmonte Elementary, Malaga Cove Intermediate School, and Miraleste High School. After graduating, Jamie played basketball at Azusa Pacific University before transferring to Oral Roberts University where he met his wife, Brenda Grace Brewer, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1980. They married on August 4, 1979, both 20 years old.

Jamie began his very successful career in the insurance industry after graduation. He was passionate about his profession and deeply cared for his clients, earning a reputation as one of the best insurance brokers in Southern California. He built up a book of loyal customers across the country and always looked out for his business partners. Jamie was impassioned about protecting his clients' assets and equally concerned about their wellbeing. He genuinely cared about everyone he worked with which fostered lifelong friendships.

Jamie was a man of faith and lived his life with a purpose driven by God. He loved his family supremely, and would do anything for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Jamie was an excellent coach and spent countless hours on baseball fields and basketball courts with his three children and their teammates. Due to the age variance of his sons, he coached for 17 straight years at Rolling Hills Little League, where he was also a long-time board member. He had a significant impact on many young men over the years, and his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand was legendary. These times on the ball fields with his sons were most certainly some of his most cherished moments. Now his sons are following in their dad's footsteps with his grandchildren.

Jamie was a 40-year board member for "En Agape and The American Christian Trust," a ministry that provides prayer for this great country 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Jamie attended the very first worship service of Calvary Chapel Palos Verdes, and immediately felt at home. He dearly loved attending his church and pushed through pain to make it a priority on Sunday mornings.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Grace Barth; his three sons James "Jamie" Barth, Jr. and his wife Cassie of Santa Barbara, Jason Barth and his wife Aubra of Frisco, Texas, and Jeremy Barth of Rancho Palos Verdes; his five grandchildren Jameson, Addison, Jackson, Jewel and Jason Jr. "Jay"; his father Fred and mother-in-law Sue Brewer; sisters Kim Steinhauer and Trish Eberhardt; Aunt Sandi Acres; cousins Jeff, Mark, and Matt Acres; brothers and sisters-in-law Dennis and Sueda Brewer, Susan Brewer, Roxanne Suggs, Rachael and Mark McClelland, Rebekah and Byron Mitchell, and countless loving nieces and nephews. Jamie was preceded in death by his mother Jan Barth, father-in-law Dennis Brewer, brother-in-law Jim Suggs, and uncle Dick Acres.

The family will have a Service held on Saturday, May 13th at Calvary Chapel Palos Verdes at 2:00pm.

Jamie will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and the countless people whose lives he touched throughout his life.
