Don Turple,84, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, May 26th after a short illness. He was born in Newago County Michigan where he grew up in the village of Hesperia. The oldest of four children, Don's family owned and operated the local hardware store. After high school, Don enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving a total of six years working in communications.
After the service, Don began his career in the Aerospace Industry. He worked for nearly 4 decades at Hughes Aircraft (now Boeing) eventually becoming a Supervisor for test equipment design and assembly. After retirement, Don enjoy both studying and playing golf, even collecting various clubs and putters. Don remained curious and studious with interets in lapidary, mining and history. He also loved to walk, and could often be found walking in the old Torrance park. His favorite. Don was a kind and quiet natured man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Don is survived by his long time companion and friend Ann Gabriel; his brothers David ( Shiela) and Fred (Judy), his sister Christine of Michigan; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Coastal Funeral Center in Lomita on June 17th from 1 to 3pm
Burial will be held at Riverside National cemetery in Riverside, California on Wednesday June 18th at 10:45 am.
