Charlotte Sue Steele

March 16, 1934 — September 6, 2024

Charlotte Sue was born to John and Cora Cunningham on March 16, 1934 in Warren, Ohio and passed away on September 6, 2024. 

As a child, Charlotte loved ballet and tap dance, dogs, riding her pony, and hunting with her cousins. Charlotte married Les Steele and moved to California in 1953.

She worked at Millie's Seafood Grotto, SPNB/BofA and TUSD. She volunteered for the Elks Lodge & Torrance Memorial Hospital. She loved traveling across the country with her husband and family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and friend. She was beautiful, hardworking, and unique with a wonderful sense of humor that brought laughter to all. She was loved and will be missed. She enjoyed conversation, coffee, reading, the beach, gardening, shopping and always wore sunglasses. Charlotte had faith in God. She was a cancer survivor - kidney once and breast cancer twice. 

Her husband of 58 years, Les Steele preceded her in death in 2012. Charlotte is survived by her four daughters: Sherry (Mike) Grant, Kim (Rick) Riebsomer, Lynn (Ed) Olsen and Jeanette (Ed) Smith; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Torrance with interment at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer's Association or City of Hope.
