Carl Arthur Viereck

April 2, 1929 — December 19, 2023

Simi Valley

Carl Arthur Viereck passed away peacefully on December 19th, 2023 in Simi Valley, CA surrounded by his loved ones. Carl was born in Wilmington, CA on April 2nd, 1929. He was the 8th out of 11 children by Henry and Anna Viereck. Carl attended Banning High School in Wilmington, and worked in sales for the remainder of his adult working career. He was a delivery sales driver for Di Carlo Bakery for 26 years, and retired in 1986 at the age of 57.

Carl married his first wife Bonnie in 1948 and had his two girls, Nicki and Carol. In 1968, he married his second wife Mary Ann. Together they enjoyed hosting numerous gatherings and parties at their home in Torrance, CA. Their home was always a joyful and happy place to play pool, drink refreshments, and spend time with family and friends. People will remember Carl as a fun, playful, hard-working, generous man and a friend to all. He enjoyed playing billiards, traveling with his wife, and playing Keno and betting on the horses. His bright blue eyes always sparkled whenever he smiled, and he was quick to laugh and joke around with family and friends. Carl was always in good health and never missed a day of work for being sick. He also never had any pain. Carl outlived all his brothers and sisters and often remarked daily with humorous puzzlement, "Why am I still here?" He was fun to be with and will be missed by all.

Carl is survived by his two daughters Nicki Bulaich and Carol Kinard, his four granddaughters Kristi Kinard, Tracy Olsen, Kelly Bulaich, and Jenni Bennett, his four great-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church in Lomita, CA on December 28th, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial will be following at 11:30 am at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. All are welcome.
