Brian D. Swank, 65, of Torrance, California, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Born and raised in Torrance to Arline and Donald Swank, Brian lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family, dedication, and laughter.
A proud Marine veteran, Brian carried his sense of duty and strength throughout his life. He fought hard for the people and things that mattered most to him. He worked in the security alarm industry for his entire adult career, earning the respect of coworkers and clients with his reliability and work ethic.
Brian was known for his loud, joyful spirit, his quick humor, and his knack for making any gathering more memorable. He loved watching football and NASCAR, spending time with friends, and bringing extra warmth to the holiday season. Though stubborn and bullheaded at times, he cared deeply and fiercely for the people he loved.
Brian is survived by his mother, Arline Swank; his daughters Briann Ontiveros, Lindsie Swank, and Sierra Schmidt; his son-in-laws: Michael (Briann) Ontiveros, Skylar (Lindsie) Hoffmann-Pasch; his grandsons Lukas and Willie Schmidt; and his siblings Leslie Swank, Karen King, and Paul Swank. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and close loved ones who will forever cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Swank.
A service to honor Brian’s life will be held at Coastal Funeral Center in Lomita, California, on January 5th starting at 1:00 PM. If you would like to send flowers or donate to a cause near to his heart a link is provided below.
