Anita Ramirez Muñoz

May 31, 1940 — July 11, 2023

Anita was born in Culver City, California to Juan Ramirez and Paula Negrete and was raised in Wilmington for most of her young life. She attended Phineas Banning High School.

Anita worked at the Star Kist Fish Cannery over on Terminal Island with her mother and late sister, Isabel, for several years before getting married. Annie, as she was otherwise known, married LAPD Officer and U.S. Marine Corps reservist Ernest R. Munoz on October 16, 1965 at Holy Family Curch in Wilmington. Annie had always placed her family first and did not return to the work force until her children were grown. She spent time working in cafeteria services for the LAUSD and later as an executive concierge for Nissan Motors at their former USA headquarters in Gardena.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband of more than 56 years, Ernie. She is survived by her son, Ernie Jr., daughter, Nancy, and her one and only grandson, Christopher, aka "Scooter". She was precededed in death by both her parents, Juan and Paula, her sister Isabel (Paceco), and her brother, John; she is survived by her youngest sibling, Mary (Atencio).

A Visitation and Rosary will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10:00am at Coastal Funeral Center, 25001 Narbonne Ave., Lomita, CA 90717. Interment to follow at 1:00pm at Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you make a donation, in Anita's name, to Autism Speaks, www.autismspeaks.org
