Amelia
Thomas
February 2, 1943 – March 20, 2026
Amelia Thomas, 83, of Torrance, California, born February 2, 1943, passed away on March 20, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband of 45 years, Joe Thomas, who never left her side.
Amelia loved her family more than words can express. She never judged, and carried herself with grace, kindness, and warmth. Classy and always put together, full of compassion and life, and our favorite TMZ (she kept us all in the know of entertainment news and good gossip).
She loved watching Hallmark movies, listening to music, dancing, and any reason to celebrate… especially if it meant shopping for a new outfit.
Amelia was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, aunt, and friend. She was always thinking of others, more so of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whether it was for a birthday, holiday, or just because, she always made sure they had something to open – simply to bring a smile to their faces.
Her faith was strong and unwavering. Every night before going to bed, she prayed in front of the collage of family photos on a wall that Joe lovingly built for her. When we visited, she made sure to bless us by tracing the sign of the cross on our backs before we walked out the door.
Amelia is survived by her beloved husband, Joe; her sister and best friend, Vivien (Carla); her six children: Terry (Travis), Loretta (Jeff), Lisa (Nick), J.R. (Sally), Marlene (Jim), and Cindy (Mick, preceded to heaven); grandchildren: Nicole, Jeffrey, David, Shannon, Drake, Clayton, Skyler, Spencer, Erica, Kimberly, and Brianna; great-grandchildren: Jada, Gianni, Brayden, Noah, Adam, Neala, Gracie, Avi, Greyson, Bella, Olivia, Gabriella, Maverick, Kane, and Teddy; and two more beautiful blessings on the way this summer.
Amelia will truly be missed by her many friends, neighbors, and all who knew and loved her. She was a great listener and gave the best advice.
She was one of a kind. Our best friend. Our peace through any storm. And now, our angel-in-heaven watching over us all.
